The ranch is flat to rolling at an elevation of 8500-8800 ft across the mountains overlooking Guadalupita Canyon covered with stands of thick timber interspersed with open meadows of high mountain grasses, draws and natural and man-made surface ponds.

Recreation

The ranch offers many recreational opportunities such as ATVing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting, wildlife viewing and simply relaxing in the outdoors. Snow skiing and golfing are found within an hour of the ranch at Angel Fire Ski and Golf Resort. Angel Fire is 4th in snowfall of all New Mexico ski resorts and has 80 runs. It also has the state’s best terrain park and only night skiing.

Guadalupita, New Mexico is a small community in Mora County with a population of about 761. Legen has it that the name, Angel Fire, originates from the Utes who witnessed a red glow on the tip of Agua Fria Peak during one of their ceremonial celebrations and said it was a blessing from the fire of gods. Later it became known as "the place of the fire of the angels". With a population of just 1,216 full time residents, Angel fire is a great location for ski enthusiast who want to get away from the big ski resorts.
